How it started
It was a freezing cold day in Manitoba back in 2010 when I found myself standing outside my car, digging through my purse for my keys… again. I could hear them—but I couldn’t see them. My fingers were frozen, I was late picking up my boys, and frustration was mounting. Eventually, I gave up and dumped my entire bag onto the icy pavement. And there they were—right at the bottom.
That wasn’t the first time it happened. Losing my keys in my bag had become a daily ritual. I kept thinking, there has to be a better way.
I didn’t want to clip some bulky plastic carabiner to my handbag—I wanted something elegant. Something that was just as useful as it was beautiful.
So… I decided to make it myself.
It started with a single design. Then another. Before long, I was completely hooked. I began sourcing beads from amazing artisans—some right here in Canada, and others from around the world. Each bead had its own little personality, and I fell in love with the process—playing with colors, textures, and styles that felt both unique and beautiful.
Eventually, I brought a collection to a local craft fair and set up a table, not expecting much… and I sold out in 15 minutes. I couldn’t believe it! That’s when I realized—this wasn’t just something I needed. Other women were looking for the same thing: something that made their lives easier, but also looked gorgeous.
Fast forward to today, and I still pinch myself. What started as a personal solution has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. We've handcrafted and shipped over 50,000 LD Keyfinders—each one made with care, by hand.
I now work alongside a small team of six amazing full-time crafters who help bring these pieces to life. And I’m so proud to say my husband and two sons have joined me in this journey—helping keep things running behind the scenes and cheering me on every step of the way. It’s still very much a family business, built on love, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.

Working from their home-based studios in Winnipeg MB, these six full-time artisans bring both skill and heart to each piece they create. For them, this isn’t just a job—it’s meaningful work that allows them to express their creativity while being part of something beautiful and purposeful.
We use only the finest materials: locally made and globally sourced beads, crystals, and gemstones, each chosen for its quality and character. The result is a collection of designs that reflect not only artistry and craftsmanship but also the joy and pride of the people who make them.
