It all started on a freezing morning in Manitoba back in 2010.

I was a busy single mom raising two young boys — juggling a career, a family, and always running late — and there I was again, standing beside my car, digging through my handbag for my keys. I remember thinking, there has to be a better way. I wanted something that wasn’t just practical, but beautiful — something that made me feel a little more put together, even on the busiest days.

So, I decided to make it myself.

I started designing a few pieces at my kitchen table, using beads from local artisans and craft stores. Before long, I had a small collection and brought it to a local craft fair — not expecting much. Fifteen minutes later, I was sold out. That moment changed everything.

What began as a simple idea has grown into something far more meaningful. Today, LD Keyfinder is a family-run business that’s handcrafted and shipped right here in Canada — with over 50,000 Keyfinders now in the hands (and handbags) of women across North America.

I still design every piece, and our small team of talented crafters brings them to life with such care and pride. My husband and two sons now work alongside me, helping with fulfillment, photography, packaging — and a whole lot of bead organizing. Our studio hums with laughter, creativity, and a shared sense of purpose.
